In this Contemporary Artist Research Explorations (CARE) that I created for my Ph.D. research, I share images and videos where I explored the urban sensoriality and how the migrant psyches take part in the experience of Montreal, specifically of Griffintown, my neighbourhood. It has been a reflection on how art enables the displaced body of a migrant to break down barriers of thought and experience. This led me to the question: How can we learn from the urban environment to improve our lives as private and communal beings? Furthermore, how can urban and architectural recognition and material culture help develop a sense of community and belonging? As an artist and researcher, my artmaking is more about the process and exploratory investigations of continuous questioning. But also, sharing and caring, I invite you to be part of this process.
