Remiendos Project, Participatory and collaborative workshop with the migrant community.
The workshop consists of mending a piece of the work Ludic Arqueology II (Arqueologia Lúdica II: 100 días) (Maczul 2014). Each migrant is invited to embroider the border of the piece cut from the family's blue quilt.
The piece embroidered on the border is part of a long-term project in which I am inviting friends and immigrants in Montreal and in the future in other parts of the world to repair the pieces of Archaeology Ludic II: 100 days.
Repairing or mending the piece in the community has been a healing process of encounter and construction of affections. My reflection revolves around the question which has found us and demands my attention every day and which I have called Art in the age of repairs: what does it mean to make art in the age of repairs?
